In loving memory of Bill Frey, a man whose kindness and care for others far surpassed any business success—though he had plenty of that, too. Bill had a remarkable ability to make everyone around him feel valued, showing his love through countless small acts of kindness. He was always ready to drop everything to help anyone in need. Born and raised in Salem, where his family ran several local grocery stores, Bill was deeply involved in the Catholic church and the community. He was the proud father of three daughters, each of whom has gone on to lead successful lives.

Bill’s larger than life laugh, warm personality, and boundless energy drew people to him. His impact on the community was so great that a street was named in his honor. Bill passed away in 2002 at the age of 55, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and joy.

The Commercial Transaction of the Year award is presented to a REALTOR® member whose noteworthy transaction exemplifies professionalism, creativity, and significance to the community—a tribute to the values Bill embodied in his life and work.
